Greystanes Uniting Church Child Care Centre is a sixty-place Long Day Care Centre which has been operating continuously since 1973. The Centre is managed by a local management committee made up of parents and church members, and parents are encouraged to become actively involved in the management of the Centre. The Centre is open 48 weeks every year, closing for 4 weeks over December/January, and Child Care Benefit and/or Rebate is available for families who qualify. Hours of operation are 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

The children at the Centre are cared for by trained and experienced educators. The Centre also has a trained cook who provides nutritionally balanced meals for the children, prepared daily at the Centre. The menus change weekly and are displayed for parents to view.

The Centre operates in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework which centres around children learning through play that is based on their interests. The Centre's educators use intentional teaching strategies to provide challenging experiences to promote children's learning. Each day, educators take photos and record in the daily diary what the children have been learning and are interested in. The diary is an evaluation and reflective tool where parents are invited to comment and provide suggestions. Individual portfolios, including Learning Summaries, are prepared for all children, providing records of their learning experiences and development. The Centre has an excellent School Readiness Program for children who will be attending school the following year.
